since I started my career as an international Hotelier
over 30 years ago - i held a dream close to my heart.
A dream to operate a family style restaurant, where
as a family we could present the best of Indian
cuisine and hospitality, to our patrons. When my
son Vaneesh finished his Hotel specialisation in
Austria - Interlaken provided us the perfet opportunity.
and The Spice India
restaurant was born, in 1999.
My wife Suneeta, who was the perfect hostess
to my various international friends at home, now
enjoys playing host to Spice
india's patrons - the people of Interlaken
and the varied tourists who visit this beautiful
resort.
Through the Spice
India, we have tried to showcase the
best of indiancraftsmanship and the country's rich
cultural heritage - while taking the patrons through
the irresistable aromas and flavours of the famed
Mughlai and tandoori cuisines.
Mughlai cuisine, perfected in the kitchens
of the Mughlai Emperors of india, is rich exotic
spices and herbs - with a range of specialities
in both vegetarian & non-vegetarian selections.
The Tandoors is the ancient Indian clay oven (used
by most Indian homes even today). Fuelled by intense
heat created from charcoal, food cooked in theTandoor
has a unique aroma while retaining its natural juices.
